And Another Thing…

The question of gay marriage?

Simple.  Separation of church and state.

Traditionally, marriage is a two-part process:  a civil union and a religious ceremony.  Take out the religious ceremony and what you have is a legally binding commitment between two people.  The government has

no right

to dictate whether any two commited adults should or should not enter into a civil union, regardless of gender.  What we have right now are discriminatory laws that affect up to 10% of the population.

Yeah, the cold medicine is working.  I can think clearly again instead of simply moaning and whimpering pathetically.

Indeed. In solidarity, I have stopped wearing my wedding ring until all people can choose a Civil Union – EQUAL – not like they have here in Vermont. Until it is recognized federally, there is no equality.

Cheers to San Fransisco, New Paltz and Portland!
