I bought my 2005 datebook on Sunday. I learning to love my new laptop, but I’m an old-fashioned girl when it comes to keeping track of birthdays and schedules and such. I need to write things down. I realize it’s only August, but come December the datebook selection is pretty slim and I had a nifty little 20% off coupon at Borders, so… I bought a shiny new low-tech datebook that has a full page for each day of the year.
I think my datebook purchase is symptomatic of how I’ve been feeling lately. I’m a little overwhelmed by all that I want/need/hope to accomplish before the end of the year. I have lists and goals and plans… and I’m not getting much done these days. Don’t get me wrong, I’m enjoying life and I’ve certainly done more playing than working lately. Nothing wrong with that. But… time is slipping by. Having a datebook for 2005 reminds me that I need to get focused and organized.
Even if I don’t accomplish all my goals by the end of 2004, at least I’ll start 2005 with a cute new datebook—and a clean slate.
