I graduated from high school in 1985. My senior year of high school, I had an advisor who suggested I take a computer class because it a) fit my schedule and b) I needed a math credit and computer classes fell under the math department. I, however, chose to take a useless, but easy, stastistics-type class because I a) hated math and didn’t want to work too hard my senior year and b) thought computers were strictly for math geeks and had no practical application in my life.
Ahh… silly girl.
If I had known, way back in 1984 when I was talking to my advisor, that in twenty years I would be laying in bed writing on a wireless laptop with a 4-hour battery life, I may have changed my mind about that computer class.
Live and learn.
