October: Chock Full of Chocolatey, Chunky Goodness

October is my favorite month.  Or is it November that’s my favorite month?  Let’s declare it a tie and move on.

This month:

On October 1st, crazy people started signing up for the NaNoWriMo challenge.  I need to get over there and put my name on the list.  You should, too.  I know you’ve always wanted to write a book in a month.  C’mon.

October 4th (today) was the deadline for voter registration in Virginia.  What about your state?

On October 7th, Jay and I celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary.  I don’t know which is a bigger miracle—that we’ve made it to 14 years when the national average seems to be about six, or that Jay is actually home this year.

October 8th and October 13th are the last two presidential debates (watch… think… vote intelligently).

On October 11th, HBO is airing Alexandra Pelosi’s Diary of a Political Tourist .  Ms. Pelosi has been following the Democratic candidates around on the campaign trail.  For those who think John Kerry is a little too serious (including me), the candid footage should be a nice change of pace.

On October 17th, a bunch of us are going to see Bill Cosby.  I always wanted to be a Cosby kid.

On October 22nd, Nick (who doesn’t have a web page, but should) graduates from the police academy.    Guess we’ll have to start calling him Officer Nick, huh?

October 31st is Halloween, which means…

On October 30th, I’ll be having a Halloween party.

Also, sometime this month The Highly Selective Book Club With Only Two Members TM will meet to discuss A Girl Becomes a Comma Like That.

Finally, the biggest event of October, Jae‘s new web site is up and running.  Stop by and say hello.
