Looking Forward

Before this year is history, I need to think about resolutions.  Some that are a little more concrete than last year’s feel-good, be-happy goals.  Not that there is anything wrong with feeling good and being happy, but… I need a little more focus, some clear directions.  So, where do I begin?

—Finishing my NaNoWriMo novel would be a good start, selling it would be an excellent finish.

—Traveling more—instead of just talking about it—would be nice.

—Getting immersed in academia instead of just dipping my toe in the pool.

—Reading more, for the book club, for school, for fun.

—Writing, writing, writing.  Always pushing myself to write better.

—Learning something new—I failed miserably at this in 2004.

—Taking more chances, saying “yes” to new opportunities and scaring myself just a little bit.

That’s a good beginning, I think…

Bye-bye 2004.  Thanks for the memories—and for not being too hard on me.
