It is so incredibly frustrating to have so many things to do—some things I even want
to do—and not have the energy to do them. I managed to make dinner tonight, something healthy and nutritious for a change (I fear my poor eating habits probably contribute to my weak immune system, so I’m adding “cook more meals, eat less junk” to my list of resolutions), and then I had a craving for chocolate cake… except the thought of two hours of mixing, baking, stirring and icing was exhausting. No cake for me. Which, I suppose, is probably for the best. But, dammit, I wanted chocolate cake.
It’s not just the physical stuff I can’t seem to manage these days. I spent a couple of hours this afternoon sorting through various upcoming deadlines, trying to figure out what I already have in my backlog that can be submitted, determining what partially-written stories I should finish first, contemplating my NaNoWriMo novel and how close I am to being finished with the first draft, etc. The simple, administrative stuff exhausted me, so by the time I was feeling somewhat caught up and organized, I didn’t have the energy to write.
Have I mentioned I’m
tired of being sick?
