All news is good news tonight:
—I finished my paper with about forty hours to spare. It’s printing as I type. I’m not sure how I feel about it, but it’s done. Done! [insert maniacal laughter here]
—Jay is home from his third and final weekend in Pennsylvania attending his certification classes to become a SCUBA instructor. He’s now qualified to get other people addicted to his hobby.
—In the midst of the final hours of my paper writing marathon, I found out I sold a story to an anthology forthcoming in the fall. I really needed that because I was feeling like I couldn’t string enough words together to coherently order a pizza.
—Last night, while in the grips of paper writing procrastination terror, I received a very lovely and flattering note from the editor who bought my ghost story for the Call of the Dark anthology. I needed that, too.
—While taking a break from my paper writing frenzy, I read that Jae has prequalified for his first house. Very exciting news!
So, that’s my weekend. All good things, right? So why am I feeling so blue? Maybe it’s because for the first time in nearly three days I feel like socializing and everyone I know is asleep…
