That’s what time I need to get up in the morning. To go on vacation. What is wrong with this picture?
I’m enjoying the free WiFi at the Courtyard Marriot here in D.C./Arlington/Crystal City (confusing, I know) and Jay is enjoying his complimentary copy of the Wall Street Journal. Life is good, despite the 4:30 wake up.
We had a very yummy pizza at Bertucci’s in Alexandria, which is Suzanne’s neck of the Virginia woods (at least, I think it’s Suzanne’s neck of the woods—I’m somewhat geographically challenged and really had no idea Alexandria is so close to Arlington). (Waving to Suzanne.) Lucky girl, living in such a cool town. I like the ‘burbs here.
Most people dislike the actual travel part of a vacation, but I don’t mind it. I’m usually so tense and harried the few days before I leave that the hours spent traveling give me time to let go of the stress. By the time I arrive at my destination, I’m ready to enjoy my vacation. My only concern at this point is that my pets will stage a coup and overthrow the petsitters. It’s a nagging concern that’s not entirely unwarranted, but I’m cautiously optimistic the current reign of power will continue and control will be maintained.
Boy, do I need this vacation.
