Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow

No, I’m not going anywhere.  I cleaned out my blogroll last night and it made me a little melancholy.  Some of my favorite blogs have disappeared.  Others have faded away to mere shadows of their former selves.  It’s sad, really.  You read someone’s blog for a few months or a few years and you feel like you know them.  Then one day you click on their link and are whisked off to a blank page with an error message.  Where are the witty words?  Where are the deep thoughts?  Where are the naked ladies?  Alas, my heart is broken.

So, the blogroll took a serious hit, but all is not lost.  I rediscovered a couple of old favorites that have been revamped and recreated.  Among my countless bookmarks (because I bookmark anything that looks interesting if I don’t have time to read it immediately), I discovered a few more blogs that I had marked for future reading but forgot about.  Oh, it was like a treasure trove of words and images and thoughts and humor!  Exciting stuff.  (In case you had any doubt, look at the picture below.  Yes, I am a strange girl who gets excited by books and words.)

Among the old favorites, there are a few new blogs of interest.  A couple of writers, an editor, a philosopher (of sorts) and a real, live dominatrix, among others.  I’ll leave to you figure out who is who and what is what, but I recommend them all for entertaining, thoughtful reading.  I’m not so sure I can make the same recommendation about my own blog, however.  It’s kind of lame these days.  I give myself a C+ (the + is because I’m honest about my sucky-ness).
