London was fabulous. There really is no other way to describe it. Pictures to come.
I was home all of twenty-four hours before I had to rush the diabetic kitty to the emergency vet. Did I mention she was having seizures? Horrible, body-twisting, drooling, howling, panting seizures. Did I mention this happened on Sunday, Mother’s Day? Traffic was a nightmare, the emergency vet was busy, I wasn’t sure we’d get her there in time, but we did. She is still at the emergency vet, with calls going back and forth between them and her regular vet. They’re going to keep her for a few more days, but it looks like she’s going to be all right. She was in a lot better shape when I saw her yesterday than she was when they took her from us on Sunday. I hope never to experience anything like that again, but I was very, very grateful Jay was home for this crisis.
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: there is no such thing as a free pet.
Otherwise, life is all about getting back to normal, catching up on my sleep, doling out the souvenirs, washing the dirty clothes, trying to get a handle on this crazy Virginia weather (what to wear? sweater? sandals?) and figuring out what’s next in my life. I am officially finished with graduate school, my record says “Degree Awarded: Masters in Humanities.” That is a nice feeling.
Oh, and I’m 40. Wow.
