Cool Down the House and Fire Up the Grill

The air conditioner is fixed (with a temporary replacement part until the real replacement part arrives next week) and the going away party for Jay is on for tomorrow.  Though it’s a cookout, I wasn’t too keen on preparing for a party and cleaning up from a party in a air conditioner-less house, nor was I looking forward to the prospect of having to move the party inside in the event those “scattered afternoon thunderstorms” (which are a daily prediction during the summer months) decided to congregate over my house.

So, to recap:  We have air conditioning, we have a Cold Stone Creamery ice cream cake in the freezer, we have food and beer and more food and we have a semi-hopeful weather forecast for tomorrow.  Perfect!

Oh, I also have new knives, which Jae put to good use:

Aren’t his vegetables beautiful?  (We’re making chicken and vegetable kabobs.)

The only lousy part is the reason we’re having the cookout.  I’m really, really not ready for Jay to leave.

Really.

I love the Cold Stone Creamery!  I go to them all the time where I live.  With the a/c back and ice cream cake, it couldn’t have been all bad.
