imageIt had been raining here in southeast Virginia for four days.  Four days.  Clouds, rain, clouds, rain.  Mist, drizzle, downpour.  Humidity.  Rain, rain, rain.  I have naturally curly hair.  Do you know what rain and humidity does to naturally curly hair?  Think poodle.  No, think poodle who stuck her paw in a electrical outlet.  It is not pretty.  However, I do believe a family of wrens is staying dry amongst my frizz.  Maybe a squirrel or two, as well.

We need the rain, I know that.  I’d rather have rain than fire, to be sure.  But do we have to get it all at once??

It wouldn’t be so bad if the rain was accompanied by fall-like temperatures.  The temperature is in the mid-70s, but it feels warmer because of the humidity.  Everything feels damp; the air feels heavy.  It’s really not pleasant.

I hear there are cooler temperatures and sunshine coming—the fall days I long for.  I’ll believe it when I see it…
