Today is the first day I have felt semi-human since Christmas day. That is a long, long time to be a zombie. A coughing, sneezing, shivering, sweaty, aching, miserable zombie. Oh, it is good to be back!! I have been wildly productive today and it feels good to be working again. It beats what I was doing on Monday—sleeping. A lot. I think I might have been conscious for six hours total. I guess it worked, though—along with the massive quantities of fruit, juice, Dayquil, Nyquil and vitamins. I’m back! (Knocking on wood that I don’t have a relapse of whatever that was.)
In my productivity, I have graded 29 writing exercises, written numerous student e-mails, posted an announcement and new assignments to Blackboard, written lecture notes for Friday’s mythology class, previewed the DVD that I’m going to show over several weeks (Power of Myth—thanks, Rose!), done some other research regarding the mythology class, caught up on my personal e-mail (including a long exchange with Miss Jennifer, who really needs to come visit the south!), caught up on my blog reading (Jae, seriously, send her to Changes!), drank coffee—oh! coffee!, made dinner plans for tomorrow night, made movie plans for next Thursday night (third time’s a charm?), added some books to my Amazon Store and went through some new writing guidelines and started preparing a few submissions. Not bad for one evening’s work.
Having a wireless modem and an abundance of electrical outlets makes for a long (six hours) and productive work session at Starbuck’s! The venti black and white mocha didn’t hurt, either (plus a bottle of water and a slice of blueberry coffee cake—it was six hours, after all!).
Did I mention it’s nice to be back?
