Sorry for the long silence. I have been miserably ill with a one-two punch of strep throat and a viral infection. Nasty stuff. I’ve slept more in the past week than I probably have in a couple of months, but I’m happy to say that I’m finally on the mend. Believe me when I say I’m
to be able to say that. I had a panic attack over the weekend when it seemed like it was only going to keep getting worse. Illness is like that, isn’t it? It’s hard to imagine it will ever get better when you’re in the thick of it.
But here I am, back at Starbucks after nearly two weeks away. I’m nowhere close to being 100%, but it feels good to be slowly getting back into my routine. I spent Sunday and Monday working from home, watching the squirrels and birds in the backyard. Not quite what I’m used to, but it was pleasant enough just being upright and semi-functioning. I accomplished a lot yesterday and I’ve been getting a little stir crazy—which is a sure sign I’m getting better!
I feel as if my brain has started to atrophy with all of the television I’ve watched! But, hey, being sick is great for catching up on all those shows I’ve recorded. I’m finally up to date on True Blood, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, The L-Word, The United States of Tara and I’ve started watching Trust Me (after Sheri told me it’s based on people she actually worked with). But, you know what? I could do with a lot less television in my life.
It’s good to be back!
(I have books packaged and ready to be mailed, so that’s an errand for tomorrow or Friday. And overdue e-mails will be forthcoming as I work my way through the In box. )
