Twenty years is a long life for a cat.  And yet, it doesn’t feel quite long enough.  He was the last of the old guard.  His brother/littermate Orville died in 2003 and his little sister Annabelle died in 2009.  Up until he got really sick a year ago, he was the lowest maintenance of all the cats.

Goodbye, Wilbur kitty. We’ll miss you.

Oh honey, I’m so sorry! I’m glad Wilbur had a wonderful cat mom like you and that you had so many good years with him…but it’s still hard when they leave us. I’m going to give my furry ones extra scritchies tonight in Wilbur’s honor.

  • What a handsome guy. Sniff.

We had one who made it to 22 or 23 (nobody was really sure how old she was). Mine are middle-aged right now, and so much a part of the family (and a pair, mismatched though they may be) that it would be weird without them, too.

Thanks, Dayle and Karen. It is so hard to lose our furry babies.  Karen ~ 22 or 23??  Wow. That is one old kitty.
