One of my goals in 2014 is to be better about updating my blog and not relying entirely on Facebook and Twitter to share good news, calls for submissions, parenting adventures, etc. There are only so many hours in the day (and I swear the days get shorter as the year slips away), so my blog has been a victim of too many deadlines, too little time. I’ll work on that in the coming year.
For now, I wanted to share some things that have been going on in the past few months.
My first essay appeared on Brain, Child Magazine. Wanting More than Enough is about having children in my forties, being a less-than-perfect mother and moving beyond a painful past with my own mother. Brain, Child is one of my dream publications and having my byline underneath their masthead was a dream come true.
Bedded Bliss: A Couple’s Guide to Lust Ever After was published by the amazing Cleis Press. This book was my nightmare for several months, as I tried to take it from vision to reality. It is a cross-genre guide for committed couples, with advice, memoir, personal anecdotes, erotic fiction and a resource guide. This was another first for me– I’ve never written so personally about my marriage or attempted to blend memoir and fiction. With the help of a dozen amazing authors, all of whom are in long-term relationships, Bedded Bliss surpassed my greatest hopes. It’s available now in print and various ebook formats.
In other publishing news, I just inked the deal for my sixteenth book with Cleis Press! Best Erotic Romance 2015 will be the fourth edition in this popular series. And Best Erotic Romance 2014 will hit the shelves in February (if not earlier), with a luscious lineup of sexy, romantic stories and a foreword from the wonderful Lauren Dane!
It’s been a busy year, a challenging year, a good year– and it’s not over yet! I’ll be back soon. Promise.
