I am in such a Zen-like place these days, not even an idiot in a BMW who thinks he owns the road or the mystery that is the military health care system can irritate me for long.  I’ve been at peace with the world since the beginning of the year.  Yes, I know, it’s only been eighteen days… but to be in a consistent state of contentment when all is not right in the (or my) world, is something.  I’d think someone was slipping me some happy drugs if I didn’t know better (do I know better?).  In any case… it is good to be at peace.

I have been listening to the Beatles a lot lately.  I keep replaying “Let It Be” over and over.  Religious undertones aside-- and I don’t have a problem with the spiritual message, but it’s not what attracts me to the song-- it makes me happy, it makes me cry, it makes me feel calm and tranquil and… at peace.  I think “Let It Be” is my motto for 2007.
