So I’m laughing at myself for bragging on Monday about the fabulous review Fairy Tale Lust: Erotic Fantasies for Women received.  I should know better, right?  That lovely upbeat review (#51!) was followed by one that was… not lovely and upbeat, let’s say. 

Sigh.

You’ll have to go read it yourself if you’re interested in seeing what reviewer #52 thought of my precious Fairy Tale Lust, but he concludes with this zinger:

I felt dirty reading this book. It was not pleasurable.

Ouch.  However, I like that he was clear about the distinction between “good” dirty and “bad” dirty. Because when you’re reading erotica, sometimes you feel dirty in the best possible way… right?

You win some, you lose some, right?  But it would’ve been sweet if I got to crow about one fabulous review on Monday and not get knocked down a notch on Tuesday.  I know it’s the nature of the industry and that reviews are personal and arbitrary, but still… sheesh! 

I did honestly laugh and shake my head when I saw that review, though. It figures…
