I haven’t blogged for a week.  Tough week.  Thank you for all the comments here and in e-mail-- I really appreciate the condolences.  I miss Annabelle terribly, most often in the mornings when she would wake me up for her breakfast.  I reload my blog and see her face and it makes me happy for a moment-- she really had an amazing personality-- and then I’m sad.  Sigh.  So, what’s a girl to do?  Make a list, of course.  So, here is a list of the good things going on-- and coming up.

--We are seeing Avenue Q tonight.  I’m not a big fan of puppets-who-talk-like-adults (or cartoons with adult themes), but I hear the songs are terrific.  I need a laugh. A lot of laughs.

--Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band have announced the 2009 tour for their new album Working on a Dream.  Excitement!  I just have to figure out where I’m going-- and who I’m going with.  So far, Chicago (with Sheri) is the only sure date.

--Speaking of Working on a Dream… I’ve been told it’s a late Christmas present for me and coming soon.  (Yay!)

--Despite a slow week last week and a few slow days early in the month, I’ve mostly met my writing goals for January.  I submitted an essay for a nonfiction anthology and wrote three stories.  I’m a couple thousand words from being finished with my fourth story (the goal was 4 stories a month).  I’ve written over 13,000 words this month.  It feels good.  I currently have eleven submissions out.  That makes me feel as good as the 13,000+ words.  I’m going to try to really rock February, too.

--I’ll be in Washington, DC July 14-19 for Romance Writers of America’s national conference.  It’s my first RWA conference in about a decade, so I’m really looking forward to it.  Plus… I have a king bed in my concierge level room at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel.  A crazy, hectic writing conference and a big bed all to myself at the end of the day.  That will be bliss.  And if you will be at the conference or live in/near DC, do let me know.  I’d love to get together!

--I love my vet (who has become my friend over the three years of frequent visits) and adore the veterinary hospital we’ve been taking our pets to for the past eight years.  I really can’t say enough good things about them.  The entire staff is absolutely amazing.  I’m very grateful for them, especially lately.

It’s good to remind myself of the good stuff.  There is a lot of it-- even when it doesn’t always seem that way.

I saw Bruce live at The Linc right before it opened for football and it was one of the most amazing shows I’ve ever seen. Bruuuuuuuuuce!

Ooh, you’re going to be in DC—I would love to get together if you have time!

Congratulations on your hard work, Kristina, and I can only imagine how hard the loss you have experienced has been.  Here is a virtual/energetic hug, and thanks for sharing both your losses and successes.
